Inspection Manager – Anchorage, AK (Pay: $38.50/hr)


The Ravn Alaska Inspection Manager is responsible for providing work direction to comply with an operational plan to aircraft inspectors and for overseeing the Maintenance Records team. The Inspection Manager also assembles, distributes, collects and completes all inspection paperwork packages for any inpections accomplished. Other responsibilities aligned with Ravn Alaska Core Values include but are not limited to:

• Upholding safety by assuring that the repair and overhaul of all articles and components is accomplished within the authority of the company’s certificate and in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and that all required work has been properly inspected;
• Promoting a positive Safety Culture with team members, following accident prevention procedures, and supporting the organization in compliance with Safety Management System (SMS), taking the time to identify and report safety hazards in the work environment or when confronted with an unsafe situation;
• Demonstrating commitment to excellence by ensuring all company test equipment and tools are in serviceable working condition;
• Promoting reliability by assisting all Inspection and Maintenance personnel in any matters pertaining to the release for return to service of all company articles worked on or system tests accomplished;
• Upholding the integrity of Maintenance functions by developing a strategic planning process and leading the Quality Control department to achieve the goals and benchmarks as outlined in the plan;
• Embodying the spirit of connectedness within the team by training and assisting inspection personnel in following proper work procedures and practices;
• Showing reliability by assisting the Director of Quality Control in all matters pertaining to the company’s Inspection Department and coordination with Maintenance Production activities;
• Promoting commitment by engaging in courteous and respectful interactions with customers, supervisors, co-workers, and business associates.


The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills in addition to the required maintenance and inspection experience, meeting the recent experience requirements as detailed in 14 CFR 65.83. Ideally, this individual will have avionics training. Other qualifications include:

• Must possess High School Diploma/GED;
• Must possess a current FAA mechanic certificate with an Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) rating;
• Must have a minimum of two years’ aircraft maintenance and inspection activities experience;
• Must be knowledgeable, or able to become knowledgeable in the applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), the Company’s General Maintenance Manual (GMM), Manufacturer’s Maintenance/Service manuals, and the appropriate parts of the Company’s Operations Specifications;
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills;
• Must have excellent record-keeping skills and be proficient, or able to become proficient, in documentation using maintenance tracking software program;
• Must have own hand tools or be willing to purchase the necessary tools to perform the responsibilities of the position;
• Must be willing to work outdoors in all types of weather, when necessary;
• Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position, which include repeatedly lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted;
• Must be able to work all shifts, to include weekends and holidays, and be able to travel out of state to domestic and international locations for several weeks at a time;
• Must have a valid Alaska driver’s license;
• Must have a strong safety awareness and the ability to adhere to Safety Management Systems (SMS);
• Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and pre-employment drug screen;
• Must be comfortable working in an airport environment around odors, substances, and sounds typically associated with operating aircraft.
